On 31 July 2023, near Ta Yoke Hla village (Hpa-An township, Hpa-An district, Kayin state), a bomb planted by the Hpa-An Guerrilla Force on a vehicle exploded on the Thanlwin Bridge at around 6:40 am. A tricycle driver was killed. DVB reported 7 police and 2 locals nearby were injured. Mizzima reported that 12 others including police and locals were injured. Myanmar Pressphoto Agency and Narinjara News reported that 11 others including military, police and locals were injured.
