On 22 July 2023, Russian forces carried out airstrikes and shelled Ukrainian positions near Mala Tokmachka, Zaporizhia. According to Russian sources, Ukrainian command post and fuel depot were destroyed and more than 160 Ukrainian servicemen were killed near Novomykhaylivka, Staromaiorske, Priyutne, Robotyne, Mala Tokmachka, Novodanylivka, Charivne and Novoivanivka ( 160 fatalities split between 8 events and coded as 20).
