A 46-year-old woman was shot and killed with a firearm by her ex-husband, aged 55. He later disposed of her body in a sewage pit. The victim had obtained a protection order as her husband had been abusing her for some time. The perpetrator was declared wanted. He was unable to escape because the area was surrounded by police officers, and was repeatedly urged to surrender but opened fire towards the police. Unable to escape, the perpetrator took his own life.
