Grenade event in Jammu and Kashmir, Kulgam area, India on Wed 26th July 2023

On July 26, Police neutralised a militant recruitment module and arrested three persons, identified as Dr. Rubani Bashir alias Dr Sabeel, Fazil Ahmed Parrey and Tariq Ahmed Naikoo, from Kulgam District of Jammu and Kashmir (J&K), reports Daily excelsior. Rubani disclosed that he has been associated with Jamat-e-Islami (JeI) from his student days and has been its member in student wing Islamic Jamatul Tulbha (IJT) for 14 years and later on has been a full-fledged member of JeI. On his disclosure, the latter two, considered to be Over Ground Workers (OGW) of Hizb-ul-Mujahideen (HM) and Jaish-e-Mohammed (JeM) were arrested. One pistol with magazine and 9 rounds of ammunition were recovered from Dr Rubani, one AK-Magazine and 19 rounds of AK ammunition was recovered from Parrey and one Chinese grenade and 10 AK rounds were recovered from Naikoo.
