On July 22, a United Liberation Front of Asom-Independent (ULFA-I) cadre identified as Hema Chetia was arrested by Police from Khowang in Dibrugarh District with INR 164,000, reports Northeast Now. During interrogation, Hema Chetia revealed that he was a former ULFA-I cadre. Dibrugarh Superintendent of Police Shwetank Mishra stated that as the accused was trying to attack the Policemen with a grenade-type thing, the police team fired at his leg injuring him.
