On July 19, terrorists opened fire on a team of Forest Department employees, identified as Imran Yousaf Wani, a Forest Guard, and Jahangir Ahmed Chechi, a forester, who had set up a checkpoint to apprehend timber smugglers near the Bangender Bridge in Pulwama District of Jammu and Kashmir, reports Daily Excelsior. Wani succumbed to his injuries, while the other had minor injuries. During the search of the scene of crime, two empty fired cartridges of AK-47 ammunition and one bullet head was recovered.
