An Assistant Sub-Inspector (ASI) of the Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF)s 60 battalion, identified as Devendra Katkari (31), was injured in an Improvised Explosive Device (IED) blast triggered by the cadres of the Communist Party of India-Maoist (CPI-Maoist) in Hathiburu Forest area near Meralgeda village under the Goelkera Police Station area in West Singhbhum District of Jharkhand on July 17, reports The Avenue Mail. The incident occurred when Katkari was patrolling through a mud road in Meralgeda village, Goelkera, when the sudden IED blast caught him off guard, causing him to sustain an injury in the thigh.
