On July 22, six Arakan Rohingya Salvation Army (ARSA) operatives, including a ‘commander’ of its military wing, were arrested along with arms and ammunition in separate raids by the Rapid Action Battalion-15 in Shamlapur and Baharchhara areas in Teknaf Sub-District in Cox’s Bazar District (Chittagong Division), reports the Daily Star. All six arrestees were identified as Hafiz Nur Mohammad (commander of ARSA’s military wing), Hossain Johor, Mohammad Faruq, Monir Ahmed, Noor Islam, and Mohammad Yasin. After the arrest of Hafiz Nur Mohammad, he confirmed the locations of the other five operatives.
