On 16 July 2023, in Shwebo town (Shwebo township, Shwebo district, Sagaing region), two bomb explosions occurred inside the Shwebo Myoma market at around 7 am. RFA reported that at least eight local people were injured. Mizzima reported that eight people including a monk and three children were injured. Democratic Voice of Burma reported that 11 people including a novice, a child, two men and seven women were injured.
