On 16 July 2023, in Kyainseikgyi town of Kyainseikgyi township (Kawkareik district, Kayin state), joint forces of Karen National Liberation Army (KNLA), Special Operation Force (SOF), Cloud Wings Drone, and Federal Wings carried out drone strikes against the Myanmar military troops and police forces stationed at township police station, general administration department office, and office of Agriculture Land Management and Statistics Department at around 10:45 pm. One police officer died. Independent Mon News Agency reported that five military soldiers died and ten others were injured. Fatalities coded 1 using the lowest estimate.
