On 18 July 2023, in Taung Khin Yan village (Gangaw township, Gangaw district, Magway region), the Myanmar military stationed in Myaung Khin Yan village fired 120mm mortar into the village. Two mortar shells landed in the village, damaging a house and killing two cattle.
