On 17 July 2023, IRGC forces fired artillery targeting PKK-affiliated militants (assumed to be PJAK) in the Qashgbalag countryside on the Iran - Turkey border in Khoy county (coded to Khvoy city) (West Azerbaijan), some time after an earlier clash with the group in the same area on the same day (coded to separately). There were no casualties, but at least 30 heads of livestock were killed.
