On 11 July 2023, Russian military forces shelled near Vodyane, Donetsk. According to Russian sources, on that day, around 335 Ukrainian soldiers were killed near Zolotarivka, Spirne, Klischiivka, Andriivka, Sil, Sieverne, Vesele, Vodyane, Pervomayske, Krasnohorivka and Petrivske (335 fatalities split across 11 locations and coded as 31).
