On 11 July 2023, PKK militants carried out a remote explosive attack targeting a Turkish army vehicle in Gunde Kasine area in Caldiran district, Van. HPG claimed 2 Turkish soldiers were killed and one other was injured during the attack, but this was not confirmed by other sources (claimed fatalities coded as 0).
