On 8 July 2023, in Kyauk Yit village (coded as Kyauk Yit (East)) (Myaung township, Sagaing district, Sagaing region), a combined force of the Myaung Special People's Defense Force, the Sagaing District PDF (battalion 4), the Chaung-U PDF and the Meiktila District PDF (battalion 3) attacked the Kyauk Yit police station where military soldiers were present with four bombs attached to drones and 10 rounds of long-range rockets at around 10 am. A military soldier was killed and at least 10 others were injured.
