On 9 July 2023, near Tha Pyay Pin village (Budalin township, Monywa district, Sagaing region), an unidentified local defense force carried out mine attacks against a Myanmar military column at the intersection of Tha Pyay Pin, Shan Te and Hnaw Yin villages in the morning. A military soldier was killed and three injured.
