On 9 July 2023, in Kyauk Pyin village of Saw township (Gangaw district, Magway region), heavy artillery shells fired by the Myanmar military troops stationed in Kyaukto landed in the village and injured a local civilian. The shelling also destroyed two houses and injured domestic animals.
