On 9 July 2023, near Nam Par Chee village of Kutkai township (Muse district, Shan-North state), the Kachin Independence Army (KIA) fired heavy artillery shells against the Myanmar military troops on guard near a communication tower at around 10:50 am. Three military soldiers died and four others were injured.
