Around 30 workers were evacuated from a construction site at Shouson Hill Road of Aberdeen on Friday afternoon after the workers discovered a suspected unexploded wartime bomb. Police officers, as well as officers of the bomb disposal unit, were called in after workers at the site found the suspected explosive at around 2 pm. All personnel at the construction site and five households nearby were evacuated.Sources said the unexploded device unearthed is a wartime motor shell measuring at 12 inches long, and 3-4 inches in diameter.It was understood that the site was previously a staff dormitory of the United States Embassy in Hong Kong.
