IED event in Skopje area, Republic of North Macedonia on Wed 5th July 2023

During a coordinated police action carried out across 23 different locations to capture individuals suspected of engaging in the smuggling of vehicles, the police found and seized: an air rifle, a pistol, around 400 cartridges cal. 9mm, 12 cartridges cal. 7.64, one cartridge cal. 7.65 mm, one cartridge cal. 7.62 mm, one cartridge cal. 7.62x39, 40 cartridges for a gas pistol, two air rifles, four magazines with 25 cartridges, pyrotechnic devices, one hand-made bomb, drugs, smuggled cars and other items. A total of 21 persons, aged between 20 and 49, including five Ministry of Interior employees, were arrested during the operation and they will be charged.
