Mortar Bomb event in Manipur, Bishnupur area, India on Sat 8th July 2023

At least two civilians and a state force personnel were injured in separate attacks by suspected Kuki militants on July 8, in Bishnupur District of Manipur, reports Imphal Free Press. The incident happened at Phougakchao Ikhai Awang Mamang Leikai region in Bishnupur District, when the Kuki militants attacked the state force bunker using sniper rifles. A District Police Commando personnel, identified as Kambam Rameshor, received bullet injury after he was shot at by suspected Kuki militants. Additionally, a civilian, identified as Yumnam Ranjan, who had gone to his field Phougakchao Ikhai Awang Mamang Leikai was also targeted by miscreants, sustaining bullet injuries. Another civilian, identified as Mohammed Waris Khan was also injured from mortar splinters with a mortar fired from Thangjing foothill area by unknown miscreants hitting the house.
