Meanwhile, the Armed Police Battalion (APBN)-8 and 14 in joint drives throughout July 7, detained six suspects in Camp-8 of Ukhiya sub-District in Cox’s Bazar District over the killings of five Rohingyas in a gunfight (on July 7), said Faruq Ahmed, Assistant Superintendent of Police of APBn-8, reports The Daily Star. The killings took place following a feud between Rohingya criminal gangs over establishing supremacy, he said. According to Police and Rohingya leaders, at least 57 Rohingyas, including 17 community leaders and 11 Arakan Rohingya Salvation Army (ARSA) operatives, got killed in clashes over the last six months.
