On 3 July 2023, AQAP militants detonated an IED car bomb against an STC Security Belt facility in Mudiyah city market (Abyan). One source claimed that some SBF fighters were injured and another that 1 civilian was injured. AQAP claimed that it had infiltrated the facility, planted an IED inside a Security Belt supply truck, and later detonated it.
