On 3 July 2023, in Nyaung Kone village (Mudon township, Mawlamyine district, Mon state), the military claimed that a mine planted by an unidentified armed group exploded on the Nyaung Kone Bridge on the Mawlamyine - Thanbyuzayat road at around 5 pm, destroying the plinth of the bridge. There were no casualties.
