On 5 July 2023, HPG claimed that Turkish forces used tactical nuclear weapons against PKK militants in Sida (Seedan) area of Al Amadiya district, Duhok, but this was not confirmed by other sources. Presumably Turkish intense airstrikes with high yield explosive yield conventional bombs are interpreted as such. Casualties unknown.
