On 4 July 2023, in the rural area of San Faustino corregimiento (Norte de Santander), 16 miners were injured by the detonation of a remote explosive device planted at an Indumax's oil residue purification plant by suspected ELN members. Only two miners were taken to a hospital and one of them died hours later from his injuries. According to authorities, two members of the group who planted the explosive arrived at the site and order everyone to evacuate before leaving the explosive there. 1 fatality.
