On 4 July 2023, a senior Taliban member from the Department of Vice and Virtue, also a prayer leader, was killed when a bomb exploded in his house in Mahmood Raqi city, Kapisa. Unclear if the bomb exploded by mistake or not, it was mentioned that the bomb originally belonged to him. Unconfirmed reports stated that this Taliban member was killed in an armed attack by AFF fighters. AFF did not officially claim this attack.
