They also conducted 47 airstrikes and deployed multiple-launch rocket systems (MLRS) in 59 further attacks on positions of [Ukrainian] troops and on civilian settlements. RussiaÕs terrorist attacks left several civilians injured, and damaged residential buildings, outbuildings, and administrative facilities, as well as privately owned vehicles. There is a high ongoing threat of missile and airstrikes across Ukraine. [Russia] is focusing its main efforts on the Lyman, Bakhmut, Avdiivka and Marinka fronts, where fierce battles are being fought. Details: The operational situation on the Volyn and Polissia fronts remains much the same as before. Russia continues to maintain its forces on the Sivershchyna and Slobozhanshchyna fronts, with Russian sabotage and reconnaissance groups active in the areas near the Ukrainian border. Russian forces deployed mortars and artillery to fire on more than 15 civilian settlements, including Hirsk, Karpovychi, Mykhalchyna Sloboda, Chaikyne (Chernihiv Oblast); Seredyna-Buda, Vovkivka, Myropillia, Riasne (Sumy Oblast); and Odnorobivka, Udy, Vovchansk, Okhrimivka, Zemlianky (Kharkiv Oblast). Russian forces also deployed mortars and artillery to fire on Odradne, Novomlynsk, Dvorichna, Zapadne, Kupiansk, Masiutivka and Kyslivka (Kharkiv Oblast) came under Russian fire. On the Lyman front, Russian forces, with the support of aircraft, attempted to push Ukrainian forces out from the positions they captured to the west of Novovodiane and to the south of Dibrova (both in Luhansk Oblast). They were unsuccessful. More than 10 civilian settlements came under Russian fire, including Nevske and Bilohorivka (Luhansk Oblast) and Verkhnokamianske, Berestove, Vesele and Rozdolivka (Donetsk Oblast). On the Bakhmut front, UkraineÕs forces successfully repelled Russian assaults in the vicinity of Orikhovo-Vasylivka and Bohdanivka (Donetsk Oblast). Ukrainian forces also continued to conduct offensive operations to the south and the north of Bakhmut, and are consolidating the positions they have captured. More than 15 civilian settlements came under Russian fire, including Vasiukivka, Markove, Bohdanivka, Khromove, Ivanivske, Chasiv Yar, Klishchiivka, Oleksandro-Shultyne and Pivnichne (Donetsk Oblast). On the Avdiivka front, UkraineÕs defence forces continued to hold back the Russian offensive in the vicinity of Avdiivka (Donetsk Oblast). Russian forces shelled over 10 civilian settlements, including Ocheretyne, Berdychi, Stepove, Avdiivka, Tonenke and Pervomaiske (Donetsk Oblast). Despite Russian airstrikes and shelling on the Marinka front, UkraineÕs defence forces repelled all Russian assaults in the vicinity of the city of Marinka. The Russians shelled more than 10 settlements, including Krasnohorivka, Heorhiivka, Hostre, Marinka and Pobieda (Donetsk Oblast). On the Shakhtarsk front, Russian forces conducted an airstrike in the vicinity of Vuhledar (Donetsk Oblast) and shelled Novomykhailivka, Vuhledar, Novoukrainka, Prechystivka, Makarivka and Zelene Pole (Donetsk Oblast), among other civilian settlements. Russian forces on the Zaporizhzhia and Kherson fronts are focusing their efforts on preventing the advance of Ukrainian forces. They carried out an airstrike in the vicinity of Rivnopillia (Zaporizhzhia Oblast) and shelled over 30 civilian settlements, including Levadne, Olhivske, Malynivka, Huliaipole, Bilohiria (Zaporizhzhia Oblast) and Zmiivka, Lvove, Tokarivka, Antonivka, Veletenske, Stanislav and Kherson (Kherson Oblast). Meanwhile, UkraineÕs defence forces continued to conduct an offensive on the Melitopol and Berdiansk fronts and are consolidating their recently captured positions, deploying artillery to strike Russian military targets, and engaging in counter-battery fire. Over the course of the day, Ukrainian aircraft carried out 13 airstrikes on areas where Russian military personnel were concentrated, 3 on Russian anti-aircraft missile systems, and 1 on a Russian command post. UkraineÕs defence forces also downed 5 Russian operational-tactical reconnaissance drones. Units of UkraineÕs Rocket Forces and Artillery struck 1 cluster of Russian military personnel and equipment, 4 ammunition storage points, 18 field artillery units, 3 anti-aircraft systems and 2 electronic warfare systems.
