On 28 June 2023, near Shwe Yaung Pya village (Bilin township, Thaton district, Mon state), a combined force of the KNLA and the PDF (under the NUG) blew up the Kyon Eik Chaung bridge, which connects the Yangon-Mawlamyine-Hpa-An-Myawaddy route, with mines at around 4 am. Two vehicles fell along with the collapsed bridge. A legal officer was killed and a police officer was injured.
