On 28 June 2023, Russian forces launched an air strike and shelled Ukrainian positions of the 21-st Motorized Brigade near Nevske, Luhansk region. According to Russian sources, on that day, up to 65 Ukrainian soldiers were killed near Nevske, Kreminna, Dibrova and Kuzmine (65 fatalities split across 4 locations and coded as 16).
