On Thursday morning, the Sudanese Air Force launched bombing raids, during which the Rapid Support Forces were stationed, which responded with ground anti-aircraft fire. The bombing included eastern Khartoum, in the vicinity of Al-Sittin Street, and the East Nile area.

According to eyewitnesses, clashes with heavy weapons were heard south of Omdurman.

The fighting, which took place on Thursday morning, constitutes a violation of the recent truce declared by the two parties to the conflict, as the army carried out Thursday morning and Wednesday evening, during the validity of the truce, bombing sorties during which it bombed locations for the rapid support station around the vicinity of the Halfaya Bridge north of Bahri, and Omdurman in the areas of Umbada, Woodal Bashir, Al-Ardah Street and Al-Souq. pdf.

The commander of the Rapid Support Forces in Sudan announces a unilateral armistice

Our correspondent reported that clashes broke out in the state of Central Darfur in the city of Zalingei, amid news of the Rapid Support Forces controlling large and strategic areas.

And the governor of North Darfur, Nimr Abdel Rahman, from El Fasher, announced that an agreement had been reached to stop the fighting in the presence of the civil administrations, the security services and the two parties to the conflict, hoping that this model would be applied to the rest of the states of the troubled region.

Meanwhile, the International Committee of the Red Cross announced that it had mediated the release of 125 Sudanese soldiers detained by the Rapid Support Forces, which have been fighting against the Sudanese army since last April.

11 million Sudanese are in dire need of urgent medical care

The committee said that the release of the soldiers, which took place on Wednesday, came at the request of both parties to the conflict.

“We are ready to act as a neutral intermediary for the release of detainees from all sides of the conflict when requested,” Jean-Christophe Sandoz, head of the ICRC delegation in Sudan, said in a statement.
