On 17 June 2023, in Hpruso township (Loikaw district, Kayah state), military soldiers from the Hpruso based No (14) Military Training School fired at least five rounds of heavy artillery into villages east of the township while a military helicopter was landing in the Bawlake area at 12 noon. The DVB reported that the Myanmar military forces carried out airstrikes at Ri Khee Bo IDPs camp and killed three civilians.
