On 20 June 2023, near Nat Pay village of Kanbalu township (Kanbalu district, Sagaing region), the military reported that landmines planted by a local PDF exploded and injured three civilians, including a village administrator at around 6 am. The explosion occurred at a mango farm located one mile southeast of the village and injured a 61-year-old woman while walking to the farm. A second explosion injured a 57-year-old village administrator and his colleague while attempting to carry home the woman who was injured by the first explosion. The three victims were taken to Kanbalu District Hospital for treatment.
