On 12 April 2023, in Thar Yar Kone village (Banmauk township, Katha district, Sagaing region), following the mine attack on military forces by the Banmauk PDF near the village at around 11 am, the military carried out two airstrikes on the village at around 1:30 pm and at around 2 pm, killing a 70-year-old woman and injuring six people including a child. A monastery and six houses were destroyed.
