The Martraits district in Mantes-la-Jolie (Yvelines) remained cordoned off for most of the afternoon on Sunday 26 March 2023. The Raid, the elite unit of the national police, was dispatched to the area to arrest armed men who were said to be holed up in a squat. The tragic outcome of this long police operation was that only the body of a man who had been shot was found on the premises, in the middle of a whole arsenal.
