False Alarm
False Alarm event in Wiltshire, Salisbury area, United Kingdom on Tue 11th April 2023
11th April 2023
A MEMBER of the public unknowingly brought a potential unexploded bomb from a beach back to Salisbury before realising the risk. Salisbury Police issued a warning confirming that on this occasion the item was a piece of metal but took the opportunity to warn others to not do the same thing. PC Joshua Pankhurst said: ÒUnexploded ordnance can be found anywhere, and they can range in size from a bullet to air-dropped bombs weighing hundreds of pounds. ÒThese can all cause serious injury and loss of life. ÒPlease, if you do find something, donÕt be tempted to poke it around to try to identify it. ÒLeave it alone and report it to us immediately on 999. A false alarm is better than an explosion.Ó
