On 6 April 2023, Islamic State militants blew themselves up in a bus in Sanaa city (Amanat al Asimah) killing 2 civilians with them. The Houthi interior ministry spokesperson claimed that Houthi intelligence was aware of the movements and was following the militants so they took public transport in an attempt to escape. Houthi forces intercepted the bus in a non-populate area leading the militants to blow themselves up.
