On 7 April 2023, a bomb went off on the road 4136 in Rang Mot Daeng village, Don Sai, Mai Kaen (Pattani), causing two Defense Volunteers to be injured. The bomb was suspected to be planted by Malay Muslim separatists, targeting the motorcade of Defense Volunteers riding 4 motorbikes while patrolling in the area. The officials believed that the incident was an attempt to threaten the state's stability.
