On 2 April 2023, a landmine planted by unknown gunmen in the Bishri Mountain - Deir-ez-Zor badia in Deir ez Zor province detonated, killing a civilian who was from Al Shamiteyeh and collecting truffles at the time. On the same day, a landmine from previous clashes planted by unknown gunmen in the same area detonated, killing a 28-year old truffle picker from Kharita. 2 fatalities.
