On 3 April 2023, an IED planted by Al Shabaab detonated, targeting government security forces (Danab/Bancroft) convoy travelling on a road in the outskirts of Ceel-Bacad village, near Adan Yabaal town (Adan Yabaal, Middle Shabelle). Al Shabaab claimed killing two soldiers and injured three others.
