On 6 April 2023, in Pyar Sa Khan village (Thandaunggyi township, Hpa-An district, Kayin state), the Myanmar military fired artillery rounds into the village without an armed clash occurring at around 7 pm. The DVB reported that two villagers were killed and four others including two children were injured by artillery shells while Karen Information Center News and Myanmar Pressphoto Agency reported that a 60-year-old woman was killed and four were injured. Fatalities coded as 1 using the lowest estimates.
