On 4 April 2023, near Kawt Than village of Thaton township (Thaton district, Mon state), a cargo train was attacked with mines while traveling from the Zin Kyaik train station of the Paung township to the Ma Hlwa Kone train station of Yangon on the Yangon-Mawlamyine railway at about 12 noon. Casualties unknown.
