On 4 April 2023, in Kyaukkyi township (Taungoo district, Kayin state), military forces - under the military LID 77 - who were stationed on the Sin Ma mountain, Chay Yan Taw and Seik Gyi fired rounds of heavy artillery at the Pay Tuu and Sat Le villages. Five local people including a 11-year-old and a 12-year-old were injured by the shells during two days of shelling (4 and 5 April).
