On 3 April 2023, in Shwe Hlay village (Chaung-U township, Monywa district, Sagaing region), a combined force of the Bo Ta Mar Guerrilla Force and unknown local defense forces fired long-range rocket launchers at the Ogre Column (named by locals) of the military who were burning motorcycles in the village at around 9 am. The People's Defense Force - Monywa District Battalion 12 also attacked those military forces with mines. Casualties unknown.
