On 2 April 2023, near Moe Bye village (Pekon township, Taungoo district, Shan-South state), the military (IB-442) stationed in Moe Bye village fired about 50 artillery rounds on the villages located in the east side between 7 am to 10 pm, hitting and killing one and injuring 5 villagers and destroying temples and houses.
