Unknown event in Chhattisgarh, Manganar area under Malewahi Police Station limits in Dantewada District area, India on Wed 15th March 2023

District Reserve Guards (DRG) personnel exchanged fire with the cadres belonging to the East Bastar Division Committee of the Communist Party of India-Maoist (CPI-Maoist) in Manganar area under Malewahi Police Station limits in Dantewada District of Chhattisgarh on March 15, reports bhaskar.com. Following information that a large number of Maoists are present in the border areas of Manganar, Gufa, and Kohbeda in the district, a search operation was launched. On seeing the Security Forces (SFs), the Maoists opened fire, ensuing an encounter that took place for about 40 minutes. Seeing the SFs being overwhelmed, the Maoists escaped under the cover of the forest. After the encounter during the search of the area, the SFs destroyed the camp of the Maoists, and a huge amount of explosive material was recovered from the spot, which includes daily use items, wires, batteries, gunpowder, and other explosive items.
