On 24 March 2023, an IED planted by an unidentified group targeted a Houthi patrol vehicle in Al Haymah (Al Waziiyah, Taizz) killing 5 Houthi fighters and injuring 3 more. The Houthi fighters were in the area to collect taxes including khums. The source claimed that the incident was part of local opposition against Houthi practices.
