On 20 March 2023, four women were killed and four severely injured in an explosion in the village of Bagmoussa (Koulpelogo, Centre-Est) after a dead body was rigged with an explosive device by presumed JNIM militants. The women were going to recover the body (corpse booby-trapped) of a young man killed by the militants on 19 March 2023.
