On 22 March 2023, Russian forces shelled Ukrainian positions near Vuhledar, Donetsk region. Russian sources claim that on that day, up to 50 Ukrainian soldiers were killed, 1 D-20, 1 D-30 howitzers, 1 pickup truck and 3 cars were destroyed near Vuhledar and Novomykhaylivka (50 fatalities split across 2 locations and coded as 25 in this event).
