IED event in Ctes-d\'Armor department, Le Poher, Callac area, France on Mon 20th February 2023
20th February 2023
This is yet another episode in the threats that Le Poher has been suffering from for several weeks. On Monday 20 February, a phone call warned the editorial staff that a bomb "had been planted" at the weekly's offices in Carhaix. Immediately, the six employees present evacuated the premises and the gendarmes intervened, along with a sniffer dog. In the end, no explosive device was found in or around the premises. A complaint has been lodged and an investigation is to be opened. For three weeks now, the editorial staff of the centre-Brittany weekly, and in particular its editor Erwan Chartier, have been the target of death threats which seem to come from the ultra-right movement. Racist threats linked to the strong mobilisation in Callac in 2022.
